System Design Quest
LearningA Duolingo-style curriculum for the system design concepts behind every app you use. Six units, 180 questions, every lesson grounded in a real company scenario and an everyday analogy.
Hi, I'm Sri.
A systems mind, now building with AI.
Ex–VMware · Dartmouth MBA
I spent ~6 years at VMware as a Technical Program Manager, orchestrating complex release programs across large engineering orgs. I went to Tuck for an MBA — business fundamentals, with an emphasis on strategy, entrepreneurship, and venture. Somewhere in the middle of all that, generative AI reset what one person could build alone.
So I've been building: a gamified system-design curriculum with a real pedagogy, a museum-style web experience about cinema and technology, a pricing intelligence dashboard that pulls structure out of scraped SaaS pages with an LLM. Shipping them is how I'm learning what this new toolchain can and can't do.
I'm open to new roles — where I can structure processes, leverage AI, stand up functions, and above all, keep learning. Say hi if that sounds like what you're hiring for.
Projects
A Duolingo-style curriculum for the system design concepts behind every app you use. Six units, 180 questions, every lesson grounded in a real company scenario and an everyday analogy.
A museum-style web experience about the century-long conversation between cinema and technology. Four wings, eleven rooms, and forty-six exhibits — each with a constellation of the products, people, and memes the film spawned.
A weekly-refreshing dashboard that tracks pricing strategy across 50+ SaaS companies. Scrapes each vendor’s page, uses Claude Haiku to extract tiers and AI features, and visualizes the market in Streamlit.
A movie and TV log with the analytics I actually wanted — rewatches, comfort-show hours, genre patterns. Built in two days because Letterboxd paywalls the stats and streaming services don’t track TV the way I watch.
Personal
I read a lot — fiction mostly, plus a steady drip of non-fiction. My Goodreads has the full archive.
Recently finished
South Indian filter coffee, almost daily. Steel tumbler, dabarah, thick decoction, boiling milk. Nothing else comes close.
